The “Feeler” Phenomenon: When Empathy Meets Quantum Entanglement

Written by Rosalyn Acosta on . Posted in Heal.

Do you sometimes experience emotions that don’t seem to originate from within you? If so, you might identify as a “Feeler,” someone who deeply absorbs the feelings and energy of others and their environment.

Intuitive abilities are more common than we think. As Carissa Schumacher, Intuitive Psychic Medium explains, “All people have intuitive abilities. Everyone has at least one or two qualities. When someone starts to have 6-7 that means there is a strong vertical attunement.”

These abilities fall into three categories – seers, knowers, and, the focus of today’s exploration, feelers. Since a young girl, I have fallen in the” strong vertical attunement category of having 6+ intuitive abilities”. Today, I am sharing about the Feelers and the science that can help explain this phenomena.

In short, Feelers absorb the feelings or energy of others, or that of the natural environment around them. It’s very difficult to recognize what energy is yours vs. everybody else’s.

The constant question I learned to ask myself early on, and still do today, is crucial for any Feeler: “Are these my feelings, or am I picking up on someone else’s?”

This experience can feel mysterious, even overwhelming at times. But could science offer a potential explanation?

Enter Quantum Entanglement: “Spooky Action at a Distance”

In Episode 3 of Mark Gober’s fascinating podcast, Where is My Mind?, he delves into scientific research suggesting that quantum entanglement might shed light on phenomena like telepathy.

You might recall Albert Einstein’s description of entanglement as “spooky action at a distance.” He attempted to disprove this concept, where two physically separate particles exhibit simultaneous reactions faster than the speed of light. Ironically, his efforts only provided further evidence for its reality.

Quantum entanglement suggests a hidden interconnectedness that our eyes can’t perceive. In the context of psychic abilities like telepathy (and perhaps the empathic abilities of Feelers), it’s as if an invisible connection exists between individuals at the level of consciousness. Could we all be entangled at a quantum level, with some individuals experiencing this connection more acutely?

Are Some People More Entangled Than Others?

Think of twins who often seem to know what the other is thinking or experiencing, even when miles apart. This real-world example hints at a deeper connection. Nobel Prize-winning physicist Brian Josephson has even stated his belief in telepathy and the potential for quantum physics to explain its fundamental properties.

Researchers like Dr. Dean Radin, in his book Entangled Minds, and Dr. Larry Dossey, an identical twin who has experienced these phenomena firsthand, have explored the potential links between quantum physics and consciousness.

Understanding the Channels: Clair Senses and the Feeler

Several of the Clair senses are direct mechanisms for receiving telepathic information from another person, being, or consciousness. To better understand how Feelers operate, it’s helpful to consider some of these “Clair senses”.

  • Clairvoyance: Clear seeing. The ability to see images, auras, visions or pictures through your mind’s eye.
  • Clairaudience: Clear hearing. The ability to hear information inaudible to your physical ears. You may hear voices, words, sounds or music.
  • Claircognizance: Clear knowing. The ability to receive knowingness through your 7th chakra.
  • Clairsentience: Clear feeling. The ability to receive information through your sensing and feeling. This includes the ability to feel emotions of self and others.

You can think of it this way:

  • The Clair senses are the different “hows”—the channels through which telepathic information is perceived (seeing, hearing, knowing, feeling). Just like our biological senses, the clair senses can be activated, strengthened, and developed to a level that is as automatic as seeing with your biological eyes.
  • The “Feeler” is the “who”—a person whose system is particularly wired to receive telepathic information through the channel of feeling and emotion (Clairsentience) without effort.

The Nuance: Clairsentience vs. Being a Feeler

Feature

Clairsentience (The Ability)

A “Feeler” (A Characteristic)

Definition

The psychic sense of “clear feeling.” Receiving info via feelings, emotions, or physical sensations.

A person who is naturally clairsentience. Their system is “wired” to feel, often without them trying.

Scope

A specific psychic sense, used intentionally to “read” situations or people.

Often an “always on” state. They absorb energy and can feel it as their own.

Experience

“I feel a lot of fear coming from you.” (Objective. You can feel the emotions, easily distinguish the source, and can separate oneself from the emotions.)

“I feel so sad right now, but nothing is wrong (with me). Whose sadness is this?” (Visceral and can be hard to separate from the feeling.)

Function

A tool for discernment and information.

A fundamental way of navigating reality.

Primary Challenge

Trusting felt information and distinguishing it from thoughts or projections.

Creating energetic boundaries to avoid overwhelm from absorbing others’ feelings.

Beyond Mental Connections: Physical Entanglement?

What if entanglement isn’t just mental, it’s also physical. Such as the numerous cases where one twin physically feels something happening to the other twin from a distance. I have experienced this firsthand

My Personal Experiences with Entanglement

As a Feeler, I constantly navigate mental and emotional entanglement. However, I’ve also experienced physical entanglement a handful of times. One vivid example from my teenage years: One day in high school, I physically couldn’t swallow well all day long, feeling a strange constriction in my throat. That evening back at home, my parents shared that my grandmother had experienced a stroke that day and was unable to swallow. The moment they spoke those words, the constriction vanished, and I could swallow freely again.

Tips for Fellow Feelers

Having navigated this sensitivity since adolescence, I’ve learned valuable strategies to manage being a Feeler and prevent overwhelm:

  • Practice energy clearing and balancing techniques to get the feelings moving.
  • Utilize ‘counter-polarity’ to transform and alleviate absorbed feelings so it’s not a burden, such as bringing in humor when feeling an overwhelming sense of sadness.
  • Have a daily practice of grounding, breathwork, and energetic protection.
  • Spend time in nature to help neutralize the feelings you’re picking up.
  • Get your body moving and exercise—go on a walk, yoga, dance, or other movement—to circulate and release energy.

Remember, it’s not just “negative” emotions Feelers pick up on. Joy, excitement, and love can also be absorbed just as easily.
